Adding images to a post

Here I will explain how to upload pictures with your post's.

I have set the maximum limit per file to 250kb and the maximum number of pictures attached to eight (8). The maximum limit for all the attachments combined is 500kb. This should be more than enough for the vast majority of pictures that you want to upload.

For example: upload two (2) images at 250kb each totaling 500kb or upload five (5) images at 100kb totaling 500kb, and so on.

How to Upload an image file:
When you create a post either via reply or by creating a new topic you can attach pictures by clicking on 'Additional Options' that you will find underneath the post text box.
When you have clicked 'Additional Options' you will see a 'Browse' button. Click on this button and a dialog box will open. The system is now asking you to select the file from your computer that you want to upload and attach to the post / reply. Once you have selected a picture (or 2,3,4,5,6,7 or 8 pictures) click post and your pictures will be seen under your post within the forum.
The pictures that you see are thumbnail images (reduced versions) of your pictures. To see a larger view of your pictures, or any pictures attached to any post, just click in the middle of them once. A pop-up window will appear with a larger view of the picture.

Resizing your image files:
If your image file is greater than 250kb you will need to use a piece of software to optimize the image. I use Adobe Photoshop, this is an expensive piece of software and something that I would not recommend you buy (unless you do a lot of PC graphic work).
I also use a FREE piece of software called Paint.net . You can download a free copy from this link: http://download.cnet.com/Paint-NET/3000-2192_4-10338146.html.]http://download.cnet.com/Paint-NET/3000-2192_4-10338146.html
Once you have downloaded & installed Paint.net click on the link below where you will be able to watch a web-cast video that Jonathan, our IT man, has produced to help you.
Watch the Web-Cast here: http://www.pdr-forum.co.uk/Image-Optimisation/Image-Optimisation.html

If you have any problems uploading images to the forum, please let me know

Thanks, admin
